Step.1

Get MS-DOS install image from here

Step.2

Create qemu disk image by ..

$ qemu-img create -f qcow dos.disk 128M

Step.3

Start installation process..

$ qemu-system-i386 -hda dos.disk -m 16 -k en-us -rtc base=localtime -device cirrus-vga -fda Dos6.22.img -boot a

Step.4

Install DOS by tutorial from here

Step.5

Start DOS by executing these stuff with your files mounted in:

$ qemu-system-i386 -hda dos.disk -m 16 -k en-us -rtc base=localtime -device cirrus-vga -drive file=fat:rw:<path-to-your-dir> -boot order=c

If you prefer no emulator screen option, append -nographic to the command line.
